CHALLENGE
Gifts for You Now hadn’t leveraged the power of social media in it’s previous marketing efforts. They had a marketing assistant schedule organic posts here and there, and used an external agency to manage their paid ad campaigns. They felt they were losing money by paying agency fees on top of their campaign budgets. At the time of taking on this position, my previous experience was in service-based industries, and I had no experience in direct-to-consumer product sales. This was a bit intimidating at first, but I was confident I could translate my skills into the B2C landscape and pivot to having a more direct sales impact!
SOLUTION
I implemented a proven Paid Ads plan consisting of varied creative, promo testing and Ad volume. While waiting for the agency contract to expire, we initially ran Ads side-by-side to compare performance. While the agency had the advantage of a large team for quick output, my Ads consistently out-performed their’s in converting sales and achieving higher Return on Ad Spend. For all of 2022, the agency was operating on a loss, losing .32 cents per dollar spent on Ads. In the end, Gifts for You Now did not see a need to renew the agency contract and I was able to fully own the strategy for Facebook, Instagram, Tik Tok and Pinterest Ads.
